What solar charger will work with the UV-5R ham two way radio?

Not directly. You'll need a regulator to get the output of the solar panel to the right voltage and current of the UV-5R. Even then without proper circuitry, you'll ruin the battery in the radio.

I have several MU22 series radios. they work

The MU22 will not do what you are attempting to do. You can't put in a control voltage on one end and have it come out on the other. 2-way radios Tx and Rx (communicate) using audio signals. The speaker output and audio input are audio signals, not DC voltages or control voltages. A radio can be used as a remote control method, however, a conversion needs to be done on both ends. Example: Turning a lamp on, at the Tx end you would have a converter which will take a control signal and convert it to an audio tone. On the Rx end (the lamp) there will be another converter, this converter listens for the correct tone and when it gets the correct tone, it turns on the lamp. This example is what you call tone-remote control, which is one of the most common methods for using 2-way radios for remote control applications. There are other methods for remote control such as telemetry. Keywords to google would be telemetry and tone remote control. Best regards.

Battery replacement? I have the Midland G-227 walkie talkie set. We have had them off for the past 3 or 4 months. We had just purchased new batteries and a new charger for them as the same problem had occured previously. The problem being, we charged the batteries as directed in the owners manual. After being stored for a while we put them on the charger for about 24 hours and we are unable to turn them on. Both lights come on on the charger but niether one of them will turn on. What are we doing wrong?????? Please let me know as this has been quite an investment for us to use only a few times. When they worked they worked very well. I would love to beable to have them work again. Thanks so much for your time and hope to have a solution soon. Respectfuly, Kris

Kris, are you sure that the radio es working properly with other batteries, I mean if you use with 4 AAA batteries does the radio turn on? If the radio turn on, is your battery lasting as ussual? check if the battery contacts are ok, may be one of them could be damaged or rusted. I hope this can help Neto

Missing parts I bought my grandson a remote control car for Christmas and the battery was missing. The store told me I would have to contact you as they have no cars left and I can't find the battery to buy. Please help me with a battery for the car, it's not much fun to have a remote control car that doesn't work. The charger was in the box still, I suspect someone stole the battery out of it.Please help!!!!!!

Hi,I'm sorry to hear of your problem concerning the missing battery for your grandson's remote control car. You have posted your problem on Fixya which is a technical support community website with the objective of helping people find the solutions and information they're looking for as quickly and as easily as possible. It is not affiliated with any specific retailer or manufacturer.Nonetheless, please check the manual that came with the toy car and determine if the batteries are really included as part of the package. There should be a list somewhere listing what's supposed to be inside. If it is really part of the package, then the store where you bought it from should take care of it, if not ask for a replacement unit. Pls bring any documentations that can help you support your claim such as a receipt or proof of purchase.Alternately, you can try stores who specializes in remote control toys. They should have replacement batteries of various models and sizes. Additionally, (and I'm guessing) you can try ordinary batteries for one time use or Nicads if you want it rechargeable. Perhaps if you can post back with brand/model and picture of the remote control car showing where the battery should be placed would help us get more information that we might be able to help you better.Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back as requested.Good luck and kind regards.Happy Holidays!

Added talkbalk and I can barely hear it

Control your talk back volume via your dynamic (mic Gain), if you have it full blast and still unable to hear it make sure the echo board itself has been adjusted for outbound volume, some models have a variable in order to adjust, also have a tech use a smaller resistor for louder talk back. the lower the resistor the higher the volume
