TH-79A Blank screen. It works with "F-switch on" but then goes blank.


Happened to me too. It takes some disassembling!!!! Between the screen and the underlying circuit board is a rubber strip with conductive material throughout which provides ''ground' for the display. This rubber wears out over time, but the quick fix is to turn it a quarter after cleaning and treating the contact surface with 'contact spray'( sparsely!!). Job requires steady hand and pincers.

Th 79a the lock icon is on and the switch is turned off. the display shows the lock icon and ch 0 on top and ch0 on the bottom. can you please help me.
