Suggested Questions And Answer :

Radio Shack Pro-95 Dual Trunk-Tracking Handheld Scanner has message that "all Channels are locked. looked up RS FAQ's on this scanner and it states to enter Function 1 then change from banks off to banks on." When entering the "func" key channels 123 start flashing but when I enter 1 the numbers reappear and nothing happens. Tried "func" key with the lock-out key and nothing happens. Nothing else in the manual on how to rx.

Hi Thanks for using FixYa. If you haven't programmed any frequencies the channels will stay locked out. Get your local frequencies by doing a search for police scanner frequencies. Once you have gotten the information for your area press the "PGM" button on the lower right hand side of the key pad. Input your 1st frequency “” then press “ENTER”. Press “PGM” key again until you get to an empty channel and then enter your 2nd frequency then "ENTER" again. Repeat as often as you wish to enter more frequencies. When you are done, (you can stop any time) press the "SCAN" button in the upper left hand position and you are in business. You are supposed to be able to choose which memory position you wish to use but I haven't tried to figure that one out. First press the manual button so you can go through the channels one by one. Then look for a button that has L/O(lock out) push this once for every channel you have a frequency programmed for it, the channel will probably not unlock if there is no frequency programmed to it.Also see this manual for more details--Radio Shack Pro-95 Dual Trunk-Tracking ManualPlease do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance. Firstly make sure the "squelch" is set as per the manual (link below) page 26. If that fails I suggest initializing the scanner to factory defaults as below:

I have a pro 95 dual trunk scanner & it says all

Hi, I can help. You probably have all frequencies in that bank locked out and all other banks locket out as well so you are seeing "All Ranges Locked Out." You should be able to just push the number of the bank you want to have active again and activate it. If you have locked out some frequencies just press "MAN" for manual and scroll up and down through all the frequencies and hit "L/O" and the L/O will change to l/o (lower case letters) indicating the frequency is no longer locked. This has to be done manually for every frequency as there is no "master unlock" function on this scanner. If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa. Regards, Tony

Pro 95 dual trunk tracking scanner just stays on channel 3 does not scan up to the other 10 channels

The manual at "" (if you don't have it) says that you may be in manual mode OR that the channel at 3 might be a "trunk guide", that means that the channel is used to send out digital permissions to the system for each radio in the unit(s) to use a certain freq. when they transmit. good luck!

The beep are known as "over beeps", they are generated at the end of a transmission by the transmitting raido to signal that the user has taken his or her finger off the transmit button and has ended transmission, like how they used to say "over". as for the hissing, have you tried adjusting the squelch?

Question: Can the PRO-94 be programmed via software or cloned? Answer: No, this is not an option on this radio. that's according to radio shack support. but that's not the last word on it. incidentally i have included the link below if you wish to get the manual for the radio. that site usually makes for good technical reading as well. Be that as it may i have found some shareware software that will program that at this site However before you buy any software for it i would suggest going to this page... scroll down the page... you will see the yahoo groups there that cover your scanner. i would suggest joining all those groups and checking out the file section. you may find a program to program it for free. robert

Please help I have a pro-97 multi trunking scanner. Why can i only hear the police calls of the town i live in? I used to live in one town and would only hear my local p.d.,since moving about 8 miles away, now i only hear my new town's police/fire calls. I used to have a non-portable desktop scanner which would pick up all the surrounding towns.I always leave my pro-97 on the signal stalker function.Any suggestions?

The signal received on scanners depends on a number of factors. The most important is the elevation of your location. If you are in a valley or have higher ground around you, this will screen signals from you and will reduce the number of stations you can hear. Secondly, receivers vary enormously from one to another. The one you are using may simply be less sensitive. Thirdly, the position and type of antenna is crucial. If you are using a directional antenna it will only pick up signal from the front and some from the back. An omni-directional antenna will allow you to pick up signals through 360 degrees. The antenna must also be as high as you can get it, especially if you are in a valley. Some emergency services use repeaters which allow you to hear signals much further away. You may not be in range of a police repeater.
