External Speaker Not Working

Hi problem with 2-way wrist watch walkie talkies. Only had them a week and one receives but the external speaker doesn't work. It sends fine and receives with the earbud. You can tell it is receiving as the fx signal blinks when you send to it, you just can't hear anything. Hate to have to keep an earbud in all the time. Thanks for any help.

2 Inputs on one FM Modulator?

Hello rn10997, Yes there are 2 input RF Modulators on the market, they even have the plans to build your own. Now here is the problem this constitutes a remote mic which the FCC has deemed illegal. I know you don't want to hera this and will probably rate me low for saying so, but I would rather be rated low that to not first warn you about what you intend to do. That being said here is how it can be done. From the audio out of your ipod or iTunes device go into one of the audio jacks of your modulator, then connect the other audio input to the CB speaker out this will will allow your to use the modulator to switch between the CB and the iTunes device. Now for a system containing only one audio input. You can build a pre modulator audio switch which will allow you to switch between the iTunes device and the CB while switching the other connection to normal functionality. If you look on the Internet they have diagrams of such things. If you can not build this yourself you may be able to find an electronics technician to do this for you for a fee. Take into mind that remote mic'ing is illegal I hope this helps, Thank you, Shuttle83

I am getting strong signal to my rig. The volume kept cutting in and out. I noticed the mounting was causing the rig to shake when I drove on rough roads. I fixed the mounting issue and within a few hours the volume cut out entirely. I opened it up to see if it was the internal speaker connection. It didn't appear to be loose. I hooked up a headset to check to see if that worked any better. I faintly heard ppl talking. The signal was strong, coming in at around 8lbs. I disconnected the external speaker and then noticed the faint voices from the internal speaker (with the volume up all the way). Any idea what the deal is on this? Thanks!

Sounds like you have a cold solder joint, take the cover off, hook it back up,with a pencil eraser end, mash lightly around on the bottom of circuit board, check all plug ends,if bad connection cold joint, use solder iron to resolder, being careful not to solder together joints. ...hope this helps...

CB Plays out PA Speaker

It could be that your amplified P.A. speaker is so sensitive that it is picking up RF from the CB. Other than that, it's possible either the switch or the jack is wired incorrectly. make sure you are using the same type of plug the jack is designed for (ie tip, ring, sleeve versus tip & ring only).

CB Plays out PA Speaker

It is possible that the PA speaker output is intended for a normal (unpowered, unamplified) speaker. Perhaps in your case the audio you hear from the PA speaker is only signal leakage from the PA Speaker connection. To know.. connect a regular speaker to the PA speaker connector (any speaker, home audio, old car 6x9....). If the PA works and drives the temporary speaker OK, and you hear no CB receive, then the PA output is for a normal speaker, with leakage of CB audio. It is just a guess, but easy to try.

Rdu2080d transmits but no sound from speaker, is the speaker replaceable, work when pluged in with external mic

Speaker is replaceable at a Motorola service center who does this model. (Current flat rate repair for the RDX series is $85.) The speaker is part of the front housing assembly, and would require the entire front to be replaced. Best regards.
