How to use the motorola talkabout 101 - Motorola Pair Talkabout 101 2 Way Frs Radios / Walkie Talkies

The Talkabout 101 is a very basic walkietalkie radio. With good batteries installed in the battery compartment, you should be able to turn the radio on, and simply press the front-center push-to-talk (PTT) button and speak. Release the button after speaking so the other person can do the same to talk back to you. If you are having trouble opening the battery compartment, pull down on the black u-shaped sides and the back portion of the radio will slide down with the u-shaped sides to reveal the compartment. (This would be one of the most common questions asked on this style radio.) Best regards.

One of my T4500 radios does the same thing. When I transmit or the radio is receiving, the interval is interrupted and it takes another 12 seconds to make a popping noise. Weird! I tried to post this as a comment but FixYa kicks out an error so apologies for posting it as a solution!

Hi, I have a set of Motorola talkabout distance walki talki's. I accidentally threw away the chargers thinking they went to some toy cars that had broken. Anyone know what I can buy in place of them at walmart or radio shack? The kids want to play and I don't want to pay alot :) Thank you!

The wall chargers are available at any Motorola dealer, part number HTN8232, for about $6 ea. Best regards.

Walkie talkie batteries don't last

The Batteries that Motorola uses will die after a while mainly because people leave them on the charger all of the time. But there is a way to refresh them. You let the battery die completely, then you charge it up for about 12 hours. Then you let the battery die completely. Do this a couple of times and the batteries will last long. Also, Motorola use to make a battery refresher (or did when I worked there.) It will charge and drain the battery automatically. It will even give you a fault if the battery is completely dead. For the HT1000 (for example) it would be the WPPN4065BR. For future reference, don't constantly charge a battery. Only have it on the charger when the battery is actually dead or very low. This will increase battery life.
