Guide :Radio Communications : Talkabout T6500 (7 Channels) 2-Way Radio

Motorola Talkabout T6500 will not transmit.

I have a T6500 talkabout. It will not transmit. The other works great. I have tried it with my other two older Talkabouts and it will not transmit. Occasionally it will show some life but only briefly. If anyone has any ideas please email me. I have tried every channel and sub channel with no luck. There is no physical damage and they have never been wet. Thanks Rob

Are you sure the batteries are ok?, try to change the batery, check the radio battery contacts, verify if when you press the ptt, appear an icon on the display that correspond to TX function. Try to use an audio accesory to TX, if all this fail, you should replace it. Good luck

We are an event management company... Please tell me the price of Motorola Talkabout T6500 (7 Channels) 2-Way Radio, and how can i buy it. need 10 sets (5 pairs). does it needs any license??

The TalkAbout radios are license-free and operate on FRS/GMRS frequencies intended for family use. It is possible using them in a business situation may be outside of the license-free perimeters. You would need to check further on this through a licensing company or the FCC (www.fcc.gov) Here's a link to the user guide for the T6500. http://www.giantintl.com/ContentManage/manuals/Moto/T65xx.pdf Here's a link to the Motorola TalkAbout Store: http://www.store.motorola.com/2-Way-Radios-Mobile-Devices-Products/b/2265993011?ie=UTF8&title=2%20Way%20Radios The T6500 is not a current model, but the models shown would talk with it, and work similarly. Here's a link to another vendor we have had success with http://www.wirelesspro.com/ They show the T6500 on their website for sale. Best regards.

Motorola Talkabout 5700, 60 second timeout?

The 60 second timeout is a feature which is necessary to keep from burning up the final amplifier in the unit. It keeps the user from ruining their radio. Most radios, including business radios have this feature. Continually holding down the PTT will also run the battery down very quickly. It would be best to try getting a regular baby monitor.

Hi I have the T5622 talkabout with a PTT headset. I can transmit OK but I am not receiving anything other than a ''click'' when the other person transmits. I have tested the headset and I am able to recive audio through the connection OK so it would seem the radio my headset is connected to is simply not sending the audio it is receiving from the transmition to my headset. Has anyone else had any issues like this at all. There is no support on the Motorola website for Talkabout radio's at all. Help!! : (

Here a few thoughts which come to mind. 1. You do not mention whether the radios communicate with the headset no on the radio. I will at this point, assume they do. 2. Be certain to have the radio SHUT OFF when plugging in the audio device. 3. Check your VOX settings. It could be your radio is going into VOX mode. 4. Only use the PTT button on the headset. Do not press the PTT on the radio at any time while using the headset. 5. Check that you have CALL TONES shut off. 6. Lastly, if nothing else works, go back to a basic mode, and set both radios where there are no special features turned on. ie turn off CODE, Qt Filter, VOX, Call Tones, etc. Here is a link to the manual: http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T56XX_57XX_User_Manual_E.pdf Best regards.
