Modify a motorola T5500 to work in different frequency

Sorry. The MHz of your radio cannot be changed. And there are no "private" frequencies available for use. However, your radio is equipped with this in mind. There are 22 frequencies built into the T5500, along with 38 Interference Eliminator Codes. The two combined offer you over 836 choices to avoid other people. And if this is not sufficient, they also have the capability Qt filtering. Page 19: Interference Eliminator Codes Page 21-22: Qt Filter

Motorola Speaker One of my motorola talkabout phones works perfectly, but the other one has a speaker that is very quiet and doesnt produce correct sounds. I have the volume all the way up and i can barley hear anything and sounds are distorted and crackled. Does anyone know how to replace the speaker inside it? i tried to open it up but theres something more than the 2 screws holding it together. i cant figure out how to open it without snapping the 2 halves each in half. ugg this is annoying

To dissamble this radio you have to remove the face panel, under this face panel ( the blue one) you will find others screws. first of all try if you have an audio accesorie, with this earbund or head set the audio must be normal or the same quality than the other one, if is not, the radio need quilified service. Good luck Ernesto

I have a Motorola Talkabout T5710. I no longer

Perhaps the privacy code has been changed on one of the radios? If you have a manual follow the instructions for setting the codes and make sure they are the same on both radios.

Neither radio will receive or send

Motorola Talkabouts usually a have a CODE you can set for each channel. This is like a TPL / DPL code. If its not set the same for both radios then other radio may not receive.GP300. Assuming they are programmed to talk to each other, ie RX and TX of each on the same frequency or they may talk through a repeater and that the TP/ DPL code are correct. If you have the Speaker icon crossed through they are probably muted, but in this case you should be able to unmute them from the keypad. Only other thing is if they are programmed for Selective Call, then they would only unmute on a call which contains their ID #. There several Selective call systems, MDC, Select V , Quick call are just some. Europe usually opts for a certain type of Select V. US uses MDC.
